my first baby grand
was born on my mom's birthday
~Christmas Eve~
it was a very snowy
cold night in germany...
i was there from start to finish
bringing this little one into
the world that night...
this is the first year she has been
~home~
for her birthday
so early morning
before all the chaos to follow
i let her open my present to her
it was a a musical porcelain doll
that my grandmother had given to me when I was four
it sings the happy birthday song
then later when her
great gram
got here we all
celebrated with a tea party
i am hoping my
~sister~
got more pictures
i was a bit too busy
by then
Such a sweet and happy post Kathy!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an uplifting story! And what adorable children. So Sweet.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, great to see you up and running again. I feel like it has been forever since catching up. I love this sweet post!
ReplyDeleteKathy, this post is just so heart-warming. Like you, I enjoy making gifts of special things to people who will enjoy them as much as I have. I've given my DIL and daughter some of my grandmother's jewelry, and the last time we went to Denmark I wore some of my late MIL's rings, and gave them to her great-nieces as I met them.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and yours all the best in 2012 - and I hope that we get to meet up at some point!
What a darling little birthday girl. You can tell how she loves her musical doll. What a treasured gift. My first babe was born on Christmas. She arrived two weeks early so we named her Nichole (with and h) after St. Nicholas. I couldn't have asked for a better gift.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, how sweet Kathy! I hope you had a wonderful time. Got a lot to catch up in your blog here it seems.
