Inspiration for Master Bath Makeover

My Blue Pearl Granite
in the Master Bath

has had me perplexed from the minute
I laid eyes on it..

~It~
set the tone for the color of the bedroom

Blue is not my favorite color
I am comfortable with
~earthy tones~
golds, greens, reds

~Jen~
helped me love blue when she matched it up with
golds & browns

smart girl
to make sense out of all the blue in the
~master bath~
sometimes it comes across as
black though....
like in this picture

wait until you see the luscious
Candice Olson fabric
for the
window treatments in
blue & gold
~coming~
as we speak they are getting
all sewn up
I'm sooo excited..

Shelly will be here tomorrow to bring
in all the materials
and start date is
July 5th
so I am dreaming of having a
vanity & travertine flooring
~soon~
hoping it will look as good as these...

This one has a ventian mirror
 a glass top
and it's blue
&
I just adore this wallpaper
big sigh...

via
home bunch
I just love that little chair

I wonder if I should have wallpaper like this?
a little too contemporary
for my traditional
master bath

A mirror on a mirror is an idea Jen thought might work..

hummmm, I do need something...

I have these glass knobs

I have wired for a lamp

Isn't this seat adorable

I love the legs on this baby
I would feel like a queen
sitting here

But these legs are on mine

This is more the size and shape of mine
~sorta~

I got my vanity from my very famous
blogger friend
whom I stalk
every chance I get

~she~
 (on the left)
had this for sale
her daughter
~Savannah's~
big clue...
desk

last summer while re-doing Savannah's
bedroom...
she needed to get rid of a few
pieces of furniture
recognize this bedroom?
Lucky girl..
the picture above was taken
in this room before the
makeover...

The uber popular
Melaine
at
~My Sweet Savannah~
so I bought it
site unseen
just so I could stalk her some more...
See the cute little vanity
and chair
it used to be in the
~apartment~
(another room that's needs help)
well now it is in the garage waiting for a
make-over

isn't she adorable
with that curve at the
~waistline~
a glass piece will be going on the top
once she is sparkling clean

I love the chippy look
but it's not for my
very traditional
~husband~
or
~bathroom~

look at the chair that came with
&
those very sexy legs

I wonder where this chair came from?

maybe she needs a short skirt?

This is where they will be shortly...
(remember this used to be a door)

with this the crowning jewel
on top

can you see it yet?

So many little pieces to this puzzle
but I am having fun
putting it all
together
one piece at a time

Master Bath Remodel day 1

It all started with this
~venetian mirror~
Wouldn't this be a great vanity mirror?
But I didn't have a vanity...

For the longest time...
well since the day we moved in
four long years ago
I have wanted to do something to the
~master bath~
The Hubs firsts words to me about the house after he saw it was...
"your not going to like the master bath"
~all blue fixtures~

So we changed out the sinks
and had the tub painted

blue pearl granite
is so much prettier now that it isn't
fighting the fixtures

I was now liking the blue pearl granite
but not the white carpet
I mean it feels good to walk on
but I know it is just wrong to have
wall to wall carpet on a bathroom floor
right?

Ok blue les toilette
you have to
~ go~
so to speak...

and there is a little problem getting into the
les toilette room
the door hit les toilette
hummmm....
so lets take out the door

and that wall will become a place to put a
~vanity~
because I am vain....
I need a place to sit and look at myself
and pluck those chin hairs

so how do we get in the
les toilette room...
a pocket door on the other side
genius!

We're getting started
wanna go along for the ride?

anybody need 2 huge beautiful blue
"Kohler Man Sinks"
 with moen fixtures
&
les toilette
to match?

Oh and that carpet....
can we say
~travertine~
with radiant heat

I'm over the moon
giddy with excitement...

because the contractor friend of ours
needs the hubs new toy
and we are
~horse trading~
otherwise I don't know if it
would have ever happened

stayed tuned for day 2

The Porch

This is my
~porch~
when we moved in
there was nothing back here
this is my
~baby~
I thunk it up all by myself

~Before~
was just a little pink pad...
with all the rain in Seattle
and liking to entertain outside
we needed a covered porch

with a BBQ kitchen

The beautiful view
while enjoying the porch

or we can sit by the fire...
too early to put the TV out
darn this NW moisture

The little Japanese maples are in full bloom finally

Can you spot our new little
solar powered lantern?

We so love entertaining out here
We have some guests that come every night...
and they are so loud we can hardly hear ourselves
~think~

I am linking to Kim's Big

I almost didn't make this party
as I had one going on into the wee hours
~last night~
right here at my place..
my high school buds

if you want to see some great
porches you have to go
after checking out Kim's I can see that I have
a lot of work to do with
~fluffing~

If you want to see more of the before & afters on this project

Today was in the high 70's
The warmest day of the year...
