Our two new babies

We are having some fantastic
~weather~
finally...
perfect for
~planting~

Remember these guys?
Here they are..
the first night
at their new home...

The spot one of them needs to be
is where the dead flax is

~voila~

Not very many flax
made it through our nasty
winter

Ok that one is in now
on to the next

Poor dead flax
has to go...
this wasn't as easy as he thought

I was driving...
we were doing some
heavy duty logging here

Yeah The Hubs is the
~Man~
Can you see the twins?

Now the other flax
has to go

Double Yeahh!

Now we are working on finding another
light fixture to match
this isn't easy

Cuties huh?

I can't wait for fall
they say this is what
they will look like!!!

Are you planting and weeding?
It feels so good to have a few
nice days to get outside!

Date Night is totally different now..

We have had a little bit of a problem with
~date night~
They have closed down
~Borders~

it was truly our special
~place~

I would read magazines for hours
the Hubs would grab a book..
and we would both have a
~latte~
We could go any night of the week,
he always bought a book..
I rarely bought a magazine..
I always told him I was a
~cheap date~
he loved that about me...

Well what are we suppose to do now?
We  don't have another bookstore in our area
so what else do we enjoy...
plants!!!
We have been checking out the nurserys
in our area
for a place to call our own..

a great one is in a little town called
~Sumner~
this is where the Hubs grew up...

~The Windmill Gardens~

That's our cute little red car with the top down
well actually it has no top to put down, but
~remember we are on a date~
I get to go where I want and he gets to
get me there how he wants..
They have all sorts of interesting things there

Shopping within shopping

lots of good inspiration

A great little restaurant

Oh my this was good

On a date he will let me stop anytime I want
to take pictures of interesting stuff

Mt Rainier was out in its
full glory

he doesn't even holler to
~hurry up~
But this car has no room to bring home plants...
and they were a bit pricey...
again I am a
~cheap date~

Well yesterday
I took him out on a date
to the nursery I discovered recently
not far from our home

One of my favorite gift stores
Country Wishes
with great prices
and always a big sale room

oh this place is heaven

They state that they were
~green, before green was in~
everything organic there

We were big Miracle grow users before...
now we know that our plants  will be
much better off and will last much longer
if we use organic

Remember Chris
..The gal who came out to help
us plant the fountain area

She set us straight...
we are just so in awe of her
~creativity and knowledge~

yesterday while on our
~date~
we got some trees
from Chris
it was pouring rain so hard they spent their
first night in the garage
these are to go on the outside of the stone
at the entry

This winter the flax didn't make it
so we thought a short tree
on either side would
look nice
a Japanese dwarf maple
~acer palmatum kamagata~
is what we liked,
Chris agreed it would do fine there..
and not block the view

It will be bright orange in the fall
and not get any bigger than 4 feet tall
~Isn't this beautiful~

I can't wait for fall

So it seems
we have now found
~our new spot~
and
 I'm not the
~cheap date I used to be~

I hope Tracy & Chris
don't get sick of us

We wouldn't go anywhere else
for plants, garden advice or

~date night~
Oh and they love our dogs..

Sushi's first week

We have a baby in the house

This little guy has so much personality
not to mention the loudest
scream I've ever heard out of a dog
this is not a bark it's a
~scream~
you think he is being attacked
or something dreadful is happening
~the breeder warned us~

and this little guy is so sad
I mean he has been moping around here for this last week
they say it takes 2-3 weeks
for him to adjust

Sushi idolizes Spanky
"please, please, play with me"
I can just hear him say as
goes around and around Spanky barking
Spanky won't even look at him

yesterday while outside helping me with
~yard work~
he was able to get near Spanky
for the first time

This is Spanky's favorite hang out
with the invisible fence boundary
this is as far down the driveway that he can go
and he will sit here for hours
watching over his
~kingdom~
or lay down....
this was so cool to see
Sushi imitating him

But after getting ignored
Sushi
 helped me weed the
ajuga

This stuff is so pretty
but what a grower...
it takes over everything

We have this funny little area in the driveway
cut out of the concrete
~for planting~
still wondering if it should stay or go
I hang my baskets here every year
these are my newly planted ones
they have a way to go...

In the fall I put my cornstalks there
The the hanging baskets
make such a pretty statement
from the street below

and sometimes the roses get
~spectacular~
and some years they don't
Some years the peonies bud
and some years they don't

This area is what I see out my kitchen window
so I would like for it to be
~spectacular~

We had a landscape architect
come out to give us suggestions
and he said to get rid of it
so I am trying to decide if
~I want it at all~

not unlike my feelings about getting a puppy
remember this was the Hubs idea, not mine...

but after this week of
 potty training, and sleepless nights
that puppy has gotten ahold of my
heart

now if Spanky will just
get onboard...
oh and Sushi was not the only one getting
~ignored~
usually he will sit in the Hubs lap
not this week
he took up space in the other chair!
