I just got home to Washington....
From Washington...
D.C.
It was so warm there...
and the cherry trees were blooming
At home it is grey and
~cold~
But my neighbor told me yesterday,
when she stopped by to welcome me home
that when she goes past
my driveway it brightens
her day..
~Awhhhhh~
because of these
Heather
Notice where the lamp on the stone is gone
last year our huge maple tree fell
during a wind storm
I can't find another one to match
There is lots to do
to clean this place up
we are waiting for a few good
warm sunny days...
Next to come up are the daffodils
I love
~ Daffs~
They are just so
~happy~
we have a daffodil parade every year
in Puyallup
just a few miles away
The Hubs mom worked her whole life in the
bulb fields in Puyallup
Getting back to my daffs...
This picture was from last spring
See the huge tree to the right
and the lamp on the stone
both gone!
I can't wait...
just a week or two
and
Spring will have Sprung!
Do you plant daffodils where your from?
I am hooking up to
Newbie Party
&
Kims
I wondered lonely as a cloud that floats on high or vale and hill.... then my heart with pleasure fills and dances with the daffodils.
ReplyDeleteAhhh...your landscape is to die for! I love your home Kathy. Welcome home, and thanks for joining my newbie party.
ReplyDeleteOK-I'm number 97! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your comment about the pie. It really is good and easy to prepare. The daffodils in my yard bloomed about 3 weeks ago (I live in South Carolina.) I am curious about your heather. How long will it bloom like that? It is beautiful, especially with the color of your home.
ReplyDeleteKathy, love the heather and the daffodils will be so pretty again when they come up. The ones around here are bout gone. What is planted on the ground, ivy?
ReplyDeleteI'm number 98! From one daff lover to another... don't you just love their yellow happiness!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYOur picutures of the beautiful cherry blossoms in DC make me want to visit. My daughter lives on Capital Hill and I love to visit DC during cherry blossom time!
Thanks for the visual fieldtrip! I am so happy to stop by!
Yvonne
Kathy your home is gorgeous and the landscaping is beautiful, I really love that heather!! Martina
ReplyDeleteI love your heather. I was just looking at some in Lowes on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is beautiful...love the heather and daffodils together.
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of your heather! I have one tiny patch and am excited that it bloomed so well this year. I have lots of daffs and plant more every year.
ReplyDeleteYour driveway is really lovely.
I'm so tired of the grey rain - don't you think it's time for some sunshine up here?
Your home & landscape are so beautiful. Thank you for following my blog and for your sweet comments. That Daffodil Festival looked like so much fun -- love the dresses.

I am so glad you are home!!! Sending you a package this week(yes, I know I could have, but I remember the package that was a "surprise" to find, lol). Your place is looking so beautiful and I love Heather. Glad you are home, but hope you had a great visit!!!
ReplyDeleteI was 102 so you're no longer a newbie. I've tried to grow lavender but it stays so puny. We're in western NC so I might look into heather. It is beautiful. Looking forward to getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos! You have a beautiful home! We live in Florida so we see different flowers here! But I always loved daffodils in the Spring! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils too, and can't wait till mine are blooming this year!

Have a great day!

Wow you have a beautiful home! I'm jealous you saw the cherry blossoms in DC, we went a few weeks ago and they hadn't bloomed yet. Maybe next year!

Something about the very first picture of your house... I had a feeling it was in the PNW. Love your landscaping! Just looked through your gorgeous Maui pictures... exactly what I needed on this cold, gray day :) Come stop by and see my friend's Bainbridge Island house that I featured.
